Fungal Ecology and Microbial Plankton

Our lab studies the microbial life in brackish and marine habitats, with a main focus on aquatic fungi
We are interested in the linkage between microbial activities and biogeochemical cycles in the water column. Our observational and experimental approach spans from microscopic, single-cell analyses up to flux measurements on ecosystem scales. The ultimate goal is to link microbial identity with their activity and function in the pelagic zone.
